The Ystradgynlais rock is situated on the junction of A4067 and the Trawsffordd road into the town. It is affectionately known as the Ystrad Rock by Blodau volunteers.

The planting and the rock itself have been maintained by volunteers for the past few years. Unfortunately bedding plants were stolen in the past so now it has been planted with daffodils and grasses. Volunteers also worked hard at making it a weed free area by mulching and putting down recycled cardboard. The mulch was donated by Craig y Nos Park and Matt Thomas Landscapes. Our volunteer Geoff Anderson patiently re-painted the lettering.
